Musicals Set In The 1950s

While many, many musicals were conceived during the 1950s, it is remarkable how few of them were actually set in this time. By far the majority of musicals written in this decade were set in far off times and places. Perhaps most ironic is that the shows most famously set during the 1950s were written much later.
