Dreamgirls Collector's Program

Dreamgirls follows the story of a black all-girl singing trio from Chicago called "The Dreams", who become music superstars.

The Dreams' manager falls in love with Effie, but later abandons her both romantically and professionally, replacing her with someone thinner.

The basic plot of Dreamgirls is derived from the history of The Supremes, a girl-group from Detroit which was Motown's most successful group act during the 1960s.

The stage version of Dreamgirls has very little dialogue and is mostly sung-through. However, there is a great deal of acting to be done during the musical numbers.
