If you are preparing for an audition for Grease, it is recommended that you prepare a song that is also written in the pop-style.

Most characters, with the exception of Sandy, should have good comic timing.

Danny Zuko (tenor/baritone, dance, 18)

 The leader of the Burger Palace Boys. Appears to be epitome of cool, but nicer than he cares to admit

Sandy Drumbrowski (soprano, dance, 18)

 the new girl in town - sweet, wholesome, innocent, Sandra Dee type

Kenicke (Baritone, 18, dance)

 Car-loving second-in-command of the burger palace boys. Tough and surly.

Betty "Rizzo" Rizzo (legit mezzo/alto, dance, 18)

leader of the Pink Ladies. Tough, jaded, and sarcastic but a sensitive heart buried underneath

Frenchie (Soprano, 18)

good-natured, dreams of becoming a beautician. A character voice.

Jan (Mezzo, 17-18)

compulsive eater, good natured - loud and pushy with the girls, but shy around boys

Marty Maraschino (Alto/Mezzo)

beautiful and obsessed with her "look" and accessories

Roger (High Tenor)

goofy "King of the mooners", loves Jan, full of half-baked schemes and ideas.

Doody (High Tenor, plays guitar, 16)

Youngest burger palace boy - boyish and naive.

Sonny

Burger Palace boy who only has girls - any girl - on his mind
