Working - Vocal Selections (Sheet Music)
Working (Original 1978 Broadway Cast Recording)
1982 Filmed Production of Working on DVD |
Based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with American workers, “Working” paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the parking lot attendant, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, the trucker, the fireman, the housewife, just to name a few.
It is revue style - easy to rehearse, minimal set, and most of the scenes are individual or small groups. The cast is made up of people of a variety of ethnicities. Although a different performer could be cast for each role, the show is usually performed with a small cast, each performer playing several roles.
Apparently there are some good monologues in this show but I haven't read any of them yet. |
