Cinderella 1957 Television Cast Recording |
No one could have put Cinderella to music more beautifully than Rodgers & Hammerstein. The songs in this show blend into the story beautifully, and the way that the lyrics fit to the music makes it difficult to believe they were written by two separate brains.
Opinion: Unfortunately, this show has been subject to several poorly directed & acted film versions. The only one to do it justice is the original 1957 television broadcast starring Julie Andrews. However, I do give the 1997 version credit for its ethnically diverse casting, even if they weren't able to find ethnically diverse actors who also had talent.
