Based on a novel by C. Y. Lee.
Chinatown, San Francisco in the late 1950s. Sammy Fong is a chinese nightclub owner who has been totally assimilated into American culture. His parents are tranditionalists, however, and are concerned about his pursuit of a dancer from the club. To try and sway his attention, they order him a picture-bride from China. It is obvious to everyone but Sammy's parents that this girl is not for him.
I Enjoy Being A Girl is overdone as an audition song.
