Based On Anna And The King Of Siam by Margaret Landon
1860s, Siam. Anna Leonowens is a young widow who must support her young son. To do so, she moves far from England to accept a position as schoolteacher for the King of Siam's many children.
Despite major differences in culture and beliefs, and a common stubborn streak, the King and Anna learn respect for one another. Another beautiful love story in which the main characters never even kiss!
 Anna's songs are good audition choices for a mother-aged mezzo with a limited range. They are deceptively simple to sing and show off personality & acting ability.

- Emissary from Burma. In love with Tuptim.

- King's stern Prime Minister. His only goal is to protect the King, but he is very commited to the "old ways" and resists change.
